An outdoor unit (20) for an air conditioning device (1), the outdoor unit (20) being in accordance with an embodiment, is provided with a heat exchanger (25), a bottom frame (8), and a cap (14). The heat exchanger (25) consists of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The heat exchanger (25) has flat tubes (2) which are arranged so that the side surfaces thereof face each other, a header collecting tube (6) to which the flat tubes (2) are connected, and fins (4) which are joined to the flat tubes (2). In the heat exchanger (25), fluid flowing through the inside of the flat tubes (2) exchanges heat with air flowing the outside of the flat tubes (2). The heat exchanger (25) is mounted on the bottom frame (8). The cap (14) covers the lower end (6a) of the header collecting tube (6) from below. The cap (14) has a water discharge opening (17) for discharging, to the outside, water entering from the gap between the header collecting tube (6) and the cap (14).
