The invention provides a temperature detection method and device. The device comprises a double-shaft motion holder connected with a wireless temperature sensor. The double-shaft motion holder can drive the wireless temperature sensor to rotate from 0 degree to 360 degrees in the horizontal direction and from 0 degree to 180 degrees in the vertical direction. The wireless temperature sensor can detect the temperature of electrical equipment in an all-directional mode in an equipment cabinet. In comparison with the prior art which can only carry out local monitoring on monitored equipment, the detection area of the device comprises all the areas in the equipment cabinet, and the detection range is very wide; the wireless temperature sensor monitors the operating temperature of all electrification parts on line without omission, and the effectiveness of a monitoring system and the operation reliability of the electrical equipment can be effectively improved.
