The invention relates to electric contact systems, in particular to an overload protection device for micro-electrode contact and a manufacturing method and using method of the overload protection device. By utilizing the electrically induced contraction effect of a phase change material GST film, the GST film is manufactured through the magnetron sputtering method, and the GST film is used as an executive component. When voltage across the two ends of a sampling resistor reaches the phase change voltage of GST, the GST film contracts and drives an electrode material to move downwards, two electrodes are separated, and therefore a follow-up circuit is protected; after a fault is cleared, the electrodes can be reset, so that the phase change material restores, and the circuit is powered on. The overload protection device can meet the requirement for protecting high-sensitivity devices in a microelectronic circuit.
