The invention relates to a method for preparing a low-oxygen titania nanotube array. The method comprises the following steps: 1, anodizing the surface of a titanium substrate to prepare a titania nanotube array; and 2, electrochemically reducing the titania nanotube array with the titania nanotube array as a cathode and a graphite plate as an anode in order to form the titania nanotube array. Low-oxygen titania nanotubes prepared through the preparation method are black and have a good light absorption effect; the low-oxygen titania nanotubes integrate the oriented electron transport performance of nanotubes with the narrow forbidden band width advantage of low-oxygen titania; and titania can be applied to the photovoltaic field, the photocatalysis field, the fuel cell field and the like. The preparation method is carried out at room temperature, and has the advantages of environmental protection, simple operation, strong controllability, and easy popularization and application.
