The invention provides an electromagnetic contractor. By employing the electromagnetic contractor, the assembling man-hours are reduced, and the assembling time is reduced. The electromagnetic contractor comprises fixed contacts (15), a movable contact (24) and an electromagnet (17). The fixed contact (15) is installed on a live circuit and is provided with a pair of electric conduction portions (15a) which keep a specified distance and are arranged at an interval; the movable contact (24) is supported by movable supporting parts (21, 22), and moves along the direction which is orthogonal to the extension direction of the pair of electric conduction portions, and is provided with movable contactors (25) which are contacted with or separated from fixed contactors (15b) arranged on the pair of the electric conduction portions; and the electromagnet is provided with a pair of fixed iron cores (17a, 17b) and a movable iron core (17i) which can be adhered to the fixed iron cores, and the movable iron core is arranged in a manner of being opposite to the fixed iron cores, and the movable supporting parts (21, 22) are connected with the movable iron core. The fixed iron core (17a) in the fixed iron cores (17a, 17b) is only wound with a switching-on electromagnetic coil (17d), and the fixed iron core (17b) in the fixed iron cores (17a, 17b) is only wound with a maintaining electromagnetic coil (17e).
