The invention provides a hydrodesulfurization process method which comprises the following steps: (1) in a hydrogenation reactor, enabling full-range gasoline to be in contact with hydrogen and a selective hydrogenation catalyst under the hydro-reaction condition to obtain a hydro-reaction product, wherein the hydro-reaction condition is controlled so that the saturation factor of alkene is below 10% by weight, methyl-1-butene accounting for over 50wt% of the full-range gasoline is converted into methyl-2-butene, and the content of diene in the hydro-reaction product is reduced to not greater than 0.8gI/100g; (2) in a hydrodesulfurization reactor, enabling the hydro-reaction product to be in contact with a selective hydrodesulfurization catalyst under the hydrodesulfurization reaction condition to obtain a hydrodesulfurization reaction product. The method provided by the invention can obtain a gasoline product with ultralow sulfur content, low thiol content and relatively small octane loss value while the product yield is high, and is very suitable for industrial application.
