The invention provides a device and a method for supporting a transmission diversity technique by a single antenna. According to an implementation mode, data from a plurality of radio frequency ports (such as two radio frequency ports) of a radio frequency unit with mTnR channels and capable of supporting the transmission diversity technique are merged, the data of each radio frequency port are mutually orthogonal and contain the same information, and the single antenna (such as a single leakage cable) transmits the merged data. When any radio frequency port and/or radio frequency channel and/or feeder line connected with the radio frequency port of the radio frequency unit is faulted, the single antenna can still keep wireless communication without interruption, and wireless communication quality in the scene of the single antenna is improved.
