The invention relates to a method for producing a treatment element for a screw machine, wherein a treatment-element core (11b) made of a first metal material (M1) is arranged in an interior (9b) of a capsule (2b) of a hot isostatic pressing system (1b), whereby a contoured annular space (14b) is formed between a capsule wall (5b) and the treatment-element core (11b). The annular space (14b) is filled with a powder (15) made of a second metal material (M2) in order to form an anti-wear layer. Then the treatment-element blank (10b) is produced in such a way that a composite body is produced from the materials (M1, M2) by hot isostatic pressing. The treatment-element blank (10b) is then post-processed to form the treatment element. The production of treatments elements is simplified by the method according to the invention, since in particular the post-processing and/or the heat treatment of the formed anti-wear layer is simplified.
