[Problem] To provide a natural energy extraction device for which there is a wide region of extraction of kinetic energy in the depth direction of river currents or tidal currents, and which can easily be attached to an existing upstream stationary structure such as a bridge support. [Solution] A natural energy extraction device equipped with: a floating body; a water wheel that has a vertical axis of rotation and is affixed to the floating body and extends downward; a power transmission device that engages the upper end of the floating body and converts the rotational kinetic energy of the floating body to driving torque for a device to be driven; and arm members, one end of which axially supports the power transmission device around the horizontal axis and the other end of which is axially supported around the horizontal axis by an upstream stationary structure. The floating body and the water wheel having a vertical axis of rotation are arranged in a river current or a tidal current.
