The invention discloses a method for improving precious metal content of a precious metal oxide coating. The method comprises the following steps of respectively dissolving precious metal and non-precious metal components in corresponding solvents, uniformly mixing the solutions to obtain a predecessor solution, coating the predecessor solution on a pretreated base, carrying out infrared lamp treatment so that the solvents are volatilized, repeating the coating-volatilization process until the predecessor solution is exhausted, repeatedly carrying out sintering at a temperature below 400 DEG C for 0.5-1.5h, and carrying out thermal decomposition at a temperature of 400-550 DEG C to obtain the precious metal oxide coating. The method can improve precious metal content in the stock solution to 85-96% from 60-70% and can obviously improve coating electrochemical properties.
