The invention provides a preparation method of a high-activity hydrogenation catalyst. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps: adding a TS molecular sieve carrier suspension into a reactor and heating to 70-80 DEG C; merging a mixed solution of soluble nickel salts and a strontium salt with an alkaline precipitant solution and adding the mixture into the TS molecular sieve carrier suspension, under the conditions of pH value at 7-9 and feeding time of 1-2 h; after feeding, continuing stirring for 0.5-1 h; filtering and washing with deionized water until no acid radical ion exists; drying at 110-120 DEG C for 4-5 h and then crushing; and reducing at 400-500 DEG C by introducing hydrogen for 2-3 h to obtain a finished product of the catalyst. The above soluble nickel salts contain Ni(NO3)2.6H2O, NiCl2.6H2O and NiSO4.6H2O; the soluble strontium salt is Sr(NO3)2; and the alkaline precipitant is Na2CO3, NaHCO3 and NaOH. Nickel accounts for 20-30 wt% of the catalyst; and strontium accounts for 0.5-1.5% of the catalyst. The catalyst has a specific surface area of 200-400 m<2> / g, pore volume of 0.4-1.0 ml / g and particle size smaller than 100 mesh.
