The invention provides a dual-protection device for a lithium ion battery. The dual-protection device comprises a shell (1), a pedestal (5), a temperature control relay (7) and a temperature control relay (7'), wherein an positive terminal (8) and negative terminal (8') of the pedestal (5) are connected with a lithium ion battery (11). The improvement of the dual-protection device is as follows: a temperature sensor (6) and a temperature sensor (6') which are respectively arranged on the temperature control relay (7) and the temperature control relay (7') are connected with the lithium ion battery (11), the positive terminal (8) and the negative terminal (8') are respectively connected with a charge-discharge electric wire (9) and a charge-discharge electric wire (9'), and the temperature control relay (7) is connected with the charge-discharge electric wire (9). Compared with the prior art, the dual-protection device provided by the invention is simple in structure, is easy to realize, protects actively and is capable of timely, rapidly and efficiently disconnecting a circuit, preventing the lithium ion battery from exploding and burning due to the high temperature and remarkably improving the security of the lithium ion battery.
