The invention discloses a surface structure capable of improving the bulletproof performance of an integral ceramic plate and a method for processing the surface structure. The surface structure is characterized in that a plurality of crack preventing grooves are machined in a bullet facing surface of the integral bulletproof ceramic plate. The surface structure and the method have the advantages that radial crack formed by a bullet hitting point can be limited within a certain region by the corresponding crack preventing grooves around the bullet hitting point when the integral ceramic plate is hit by a bullet, cannot continue being radially forwardly expanded but is peripherally expanded along the grooves, and ceramics outside the crack preventing grooves around the bullet hitting point are protected against damage, so that a bulletproof effect of the integral bulletproof ceramic plate can be improved; a plurality of bosses are machined on the bullet facing surface of the integral bulletproof ceramic plate, and the tops of the bosses are hemispherical, so that the direction of the bullet can be changed when the surfaces of the bosses are hit by the bullet, penetrating power of the bullet can be reduced, and the bulletproof effect of the integral bulletproof ceramic plate can be further improved.
