The invention discloses a method for detecting internal overvoltage protection of a light control thyristor and a device for generating a status signal. The method for detecting internal overvoltage protection of the light control thyristor comprises the steps that (1) when the light control thyristor bears forward voltage, the voltage state of the thyristor is collected and is stabilized within a voltage stabilization value range, the status signal of the thyristor is obtained after shaping, and the status signal is converted into an optical signal and then is sent out; (2) the status signal of the thyristor is received, compensation is carried out between the status signal of the thyristor and a trigger control signal, and an overvoltage detection result is generated under the control of a detection pulse; (3) the overvoltage detection result is read and the fact that overvoltage protection acts or not is judged. The device for generating the status signal comprises a first detection circuit and a second detection circuit, wherein the first detection circuit and the second detection circuit are located at the two ends of the light control thyristor in each thyristor level respectively and are used for detecting the voltage state of a corresponding light control thyristor of two light control thyristors and outputting the status signal of the thyristor. The method for detecting internal overvoltage protection of the light control thyristor and the device for generating the status signal have the advantages that the realizing method is simple, the detection result is accuracy, the service life of the light control thyristor is prolonged, and judging is convenient.
