The invention relates to the field of high-voltage electrical equipment, in particular to a basin-type insulator and a high-voltage switch with the basin-type insulator. The basin-type insulator comprises a middle inserting piece, a casting piece and an external flange. The two sides of the out-turning edge of the casting piece are respectively provided with a sealing ring groove, the two sides of the external flange are respectively provided with a sealing portion used for being matched with a corresponding high-voltage switch cylinder body in a sealing mode, a detecting channel is formed in the external flange, the detecting channel is provided with communicating openings located at the two sides of the external flange and detecting openings communicated with the communicating openings, each communicating opening is formed in the position between one sealing portion and one sealing ring groove, and the detecting openings are used for being matched with corresponding leak detecting devices and sealed by corresponding plugs; damage in any position of a sealing ring can be detected from the positions of the detecting openings, and due to the fact that the leak detecting devices conduct one-by-one detection on the detecting openings, the reliability of a detection result can be guaranteed. The basin-type insulator solves the problems that an existing basin-type insulator wastes time and labor in the process of leak detection and the sealing performance cannot be guaranteed when the existing basin-type insulator is used.
