The invention relates to a system (21) for polishing a concave surface of an external piece (3) for timepieces. The system comprises a securing device comprising a support (31) that carries the piece; and a grinding device (27) comprising an abrasive device (33) rotatably mounted along a first axis (A3) and configured to polish the piece along a first curvature (C1). According to the invention, the securing device (25) further comprises a moving mechanism (35) of the support so that the support (31) carries out a reciprocating movement (B) along a second axis. The contact surface of the abrasive device (33) is curved so as to polish the piece along a second curvature (C2) in addition to the first curvature. The invention relates to the field of crystals for the timepieces.
