The invention discloses a video processing system with pattern recognition and method for use thereof. The system is used for processing a video signal into a processed video signal, the video signal includes an image sequence, the system includes a pattern recognition module for detecting a pattern of interest in the image sequence based on coding feedback data and generating pattern recognition data in response thereto, wherein the pattern recognition data indicating a pattern of interest. A video codec connected to the pattern recognition module generates the processed video signal based on the image sequence and generates the coding feedback data in conjunction with the processing of the image sequence.
