Provided is a pneumatic tire (1) comprising: a carcass ply having a main section (11a) that extends between a bead core (9), and a bending section (11b) that bends from the main section (11a) around the bead core (9); and a bead filler (13), wherein a part of the bending section (11b) extending further outward in the radial direction than an outer edge (13a) of the bead filler (13) in the radial direction is extended to a position at least 5 mm from the outer edge (13a) of the bead filler in the radial direction while maintaining a distance of 1 mm or less from the main section (11a); a bending edge (11c) is positioned further inward in the width direction of the tire than the neutral axis of bending of a bead section (7) and a side wall section (5) and within 10% to 40% of the cross-sectional height (SH) of the tire from the innermost edge in the radial direction; the tire also comprises a side rubber (5a) that covers the bending edge (11c), is positioned outwardly in the width direction of the main section (11a) and the bending section (11b), and forms part of the outer surface of the tire.
