The encoding method of the frame field information comprises the steps that: the encoder receives a video image to be encoded and auxiliary information; and the encoder encodes the video image, encodes field identification information used by the video image according to a code stream organization method of field identification information and the auxiliary information, and outputs a code stream containing the field identification information. As for a video image required to be played repeatedly, the encoder encodes the video image into a repeated playing mode by using the field identification information. According to the invention, as for the video image required to be played repeatedly, the encoder can encodes the video image into a repeated playing mode by using the field identification information, thereby avoiding encoding repeated fields, and saving encoding bit overhead. Correspondingly, the decoding method and the decoder provided by the invention can save the decoding time in the parsing process of the code stream.
