The present invention relates to a device for packaging a product, in particular a cosmetic product. The device comprises: a container (10;110) which contains the product and comprises an opening; a member (20;120) which is used for closing the container, and is intended to close the container in a reversible manner and being able to move between an open position and a closed position of the container; a sealing member (40;140), which is secured to the closing member, comprises an elastically deformable part (42;142), and has a contour that is able to come into contact with a perimeter of a part of the container; a holding element (30;175) that is mounted such that it can move along an axis X inside the closing member. The holding element (30;175) rests along the axis X against a portion of the container (36;116) before the closing member is in its closing position, such that the axial height (h) of a space (50;80) that houses the sealing member decreases between the open position and the closed position of the container so as to axially compress the sealing member which widens radially in order to rest against the perimeter of the container.
