The monitoring system comprises a monitoring master station, an electric power telecommunication network, an electric power MSTP (multi-service transport platform) network, an EPON (ethernet passive optical network), a GPRS (general packet radio service) network, a public telephone network, a first server, a first computer, a first network switch, a router, a wireless DTU (data transfer unit), a plurality of first load monitor and a plurality of second load monitor. The monitoring master station is connected with the electric power telecommunication networks and the public telephone network respectively; the first server and the second server are respectively connected with the electric power telecommunication network; the an electric power MSTP network is connected with the electric power telecommunication network; the router is connected with the electric power MSTP network and the GPRS network; the first network switch is connected with the electric power telecommunication network and the EPON network; each second load monitor is connected with the EPON network; each first load monitor is connected with the GPRS network; and the wireless DTU is connected with the GPRS network and the public telephone network. Wired and wireless dual data acquisition modes are adopted in the monitoring system for the power distribution load, and therefore, transmission via a plurality of network accesses can be realized.
