The invention provides a multilevel topological analysis method for a power system. The multilevel topological analysis method adopts multilevel topological ways for different abstraction levels of the same power grid. The multilevel topological analysis method includes steps of S1, determining level number N of multilevel topological analysis of the power system; S2, subjecting the N levels of the power system to topological analysis, and sequentially judging whether topological maps of the power system from the first level to the Nth level change or not; and S3, judging stability of the power system according to the condition whether the topological maps of the power system of different levels change or not, wherein the N is a positive integer larger than 1. The multilevel topological analysis method realizes topological analysis of different abstraction levels, the topological maps formed by different abstraction levels can stand for reference scales of different changes of the power system, and requirements for different network analysis and application can be met.
