In order to overcome the problems that the automotive brake friction plate in the prior art contains heavy metal antimony so as to cause pollution to the environment and cause harm to a human body, the invention discloses an automotive brake friction plate made of hexagonal-crystal-system boron nitride and a preparation method thereof. The automotive brake friction plate comprises the following powdery components or fibrous components in parts by weight: 80-120 parts of boron-modified phenolic resin, 200-300 parts of low-carbon steel fiber, 70-140 parts of mineral fiber, 100-120 parts of hexagonal-crystal-system boron nitride powder, 80-120 parts of graphite powder, 70-100 parts of isometric crystal system Eta-Al2O3 powder, 100-200 parts of coke powder, 100-140 parts of friction powder, 120-160 parts of vermiculite powder and 80-120 parts of barite powder. The automotive brake friction plate disclosed by the invention has the beneficial and technical effects that the heavy metal antimony which is harmful to the human body and pollutes the environment is completely eliminated; the performance of the prepared brake piece is far higher than a current national standard; and the density of the hexagonal-crystal-system boron nitride is lower than that of antimony sulfide and conforms to the trend of automotive light-weight development.
