In order to ensure that an integrated electronic circuit, for example an RFID-ID 4, in a security or value document (1) is not manipulated without authorization, the security or value document (1) according to the invention is created, containing at least one integrated electronic circuit (4) that is located adjacent to a document element (11) of the security or value document (1) and does not accommodated in a housing for storing data requiring protection, and comprising at least one communication interface (3), wherein the security or value document (1) additionally comprises at least one sensor element (9) for receiving a verification signal, and wherein the verification signal is influenced by physical properties of the document element (11) adjacent to the integrated electronic circuit (4). The invention further relates to a verification method using said security or value document (1), in which method the verification signal is influenced by physical properties of the document element (11) that is adjacent to the integrated electronic circuit (4), comprising the following method steps: (a) generating the verification signal in at least one sensor element (9) by a physical variable acting on at least one sensor element and (b) comparing the generated verification signal to a reference verification signal that is stored in the integrated electronic circuit (4) and has been received immediately after embedding the integrated electronic circuit (4) in the security or value document (1).
