The invention provides an airtight heat preservation steel plate silo and a manufacturing method thereof. The steel plate silo is low in manufacturing cost, occupies small floor area and is easy for mechanical production; however, due to the poor airtightness, fumigating and inset killing cannot be carried out, thus, the steel plate silo is not suitable for being storinged for a long time. The airtight heat preservation steel plate silo comprises an internal cylinder body; the internal cylinder body comprises a silo cylinder (1) and a silo top (2); the silo top is connected with the silo cylinder through welding; and the connecting structure is continuously welded; a heat preservation layer (3) is arranged outside the internal cylinder body; the internal cylinder body is connected with an upright column (4); an external cylinder body (5) is arranged outside the heat preservation layer; and the silo top is an integrally welded structure. The airtight heat preservation steel plate silo provided by the invention can be used as a steel plate grain bin for storing grains for a long time.
