The modular configuration system is characterized by comprising a part and accessory database of the vacuum coating machine, a module model base and a case database, wherein the database comprises structural sizes of parts and accessories and assembling relations between the parts and the accessories; in the model base, the vacuum coating machine is divided into a plurality of modules; each module has multiple types and multiple series; and the case database comprises multiple types and multiple series of vacuum coating machines which are configurated. The modular configuration system has the advantages that a customer requirement is converted into quick automatic modular design of a functional module of the coating machine is realized; manmade design mistakes are reduced; the design cost is reduced; and the response speed of an enterprise to a market requirement is greatly increased.
