The invention relates to free-living nitrogen fixing bacteria with efficient auxin secretion ability and nitrogen fixing ability and application thereof, belonging to the field of microorganisms. The inventor of the invention samples the Chinese wild rye on the saline-alkali grassland of the Shengli village, Yuanda, Lanxi, Heilongjiang, then determines the auxin secretion ability, phosphorus dissolving ability and nitrogen fixing ability of the strain after separation and purification, and finally obtains the free-living nitrogen fixing bacteria with efficient auxin secretion ability and nitrogen fixing ability, which is named ZLXTR6, and the strain collection number is CGMCC No.6572. The result of the mixed sowing of the Chinese wild rye seeds inoculated with the bacteria and the alfalfa shows that the method effectively improves the plant growing ability and regeneration ability of the Chinese wild rye while suppressing the interspecific competition effect of the alfalfa on the Chinese wild rye and improving the output of the Chinese wild rye on the mixed sowing grassland. Thus, the nitrogen fixing bacteria provided by the invention have broad application prospects in planting of the Chinese wild rye.
