The invention discloses a method and device for storing a paper planar collection. The method comprises the following steps: selecting an inner-layer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyester film according to the size of the paper planar collection; selecting an outer-layer PET polyester film of which the area is lager than that of the inner-layer PET polyester film; covering and wrapping the paper planar collection in the inner-layer PET polyester film and then placing the inner-layer PET polyester film in the outer-layer PET polyester film; maintaining the corresponding overlapping positions of the paper planar collection, the inner-layer PET polyester film and the outer-layer PET polyester film, covering plastics on the outer-layer PET polyester film and the inner-layer PET polyester film from the closed ends of the outer-layer PET polyester film and the inner-layer PET polyester film after the paper planar collection is overlapped on the outer-layer PET polyester film and the inner-layer PET polyester film, and binding the collection into a book. The outer-layer PET polyester film and the inner-layer PET polyester film are stiff, smooth, attractive and high in transparency; the scattered paper planar collections can be bound into a book, thereby saving the space and effectively prolonging the service life of planar collections such as paper or wax specimens; in addition, the collections are conveniently bound, dismounted, shown and evaluated.
