The invention provides a self-adaptive dead-zone compensation method based on an intelligent unit series high-voltage frequency converter. The intelligent unit series high-voltage frequency converter comprises a master controller, wherein the master controller is connected with a plurality of series intelligent power units. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps of: detecting phase difference between the output load current zero crossing and output load voltage zero crossing of the frequency converter in real time by the master controller, and computing dead-zone negative compensation time according to the phase difference; according to the carrier frequency of the frequency converter and the dead-zone negative compensation time, computing the number of pulses for converting dead-zone negative compensation modes; and sending the number of pulses which is computed to each intelligent power unit for execution by the master controller. The self-adaptive dead-zone compensation method based on the intelligent unit series high-voltage frequency converter has the advantages that under the conditions of load change and different frequencies, dead-zone compensation in high-voltage frequency conversion is self-adaptively adjusted, and distortion of voltage waveform and current waveform caused by the dead-zone time of a switching tube can be substantially eliminated.
