The invention provides a substation area island protection method and a substation area island protection system. The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring the position information of circuit breakers, which is associated with island operation state in a substation area, and judging whether all circuit breakers are at a switch-on position according to the position information of the circuit breakers; if so, starting to judge whether the island operation state occurs in real time after first preset time; and when the island operation state occurs, switching off the circuit breakers at a networking part of a power generation system after second preset time. The real-time operation information of a part in the substation area associated with a grid-connected power generation system is acquired, centralized judgment and operation are performed, and an anti-island protection function based on a station level is realized.
