The invention provides a preparation method of palygorskite clay rich mineral paper, which comprises mixing modified palygorskite clay, high-polymer material polyethylene, polypropylene and auxiliaries, and then performing banburying, extrusion, film blowing, traction drawing, forming and pressing to obtain primary rich mineral paper with thickness of 0.03mm-3mm, wherein the primary rich mineral paper mainly serves as powder packing bags, packing linings and the like; and performing corona treatment on the primary rich mineral paper, and then coating the primary rich mineral paper with organic resin to obtain refined rich mineral paper which has the advantages of being high in strength, excellent in printing effect, soft in color, waterproof, oil-proof, resistant to chemicals, stable in size, not easy to age, good in heat insulation, not afraid of damage caused by worms and the like and mainly serves as external packing of products, advertisement paper, writing paper and the like. Due to the fact that the palygorskite clay has hollow fiber-shaped structures, good rheological property and the function of serving as a high-polymer material reinforcing agent, compared with the paper prepared by other minerals, the rich mineral paper made of the palygorskite clay has the advantages of being light in mass, easy to process, good in mechanical property and the like, and the application fields of the rich mineral paper are broadened.
