The invention aims to provide a cable maintenance device and a piece of elevator equipment with such a cable maintenance device, in which independent current respectively flows through each cord bundle that constitutes a resin-wrapped cable so as to determine whether the cord bundles are contacted with each other. The elevator equipment of the invention has lift bodies (3, 4), cables (1) and a cable hoist. Each cable (1) has a core portion, multiple core bundles and an outer resin layer. The core portion is made of resin and is disposed in the middle of the cables. The multiple core bundles are formed by twisting strands of conductors. The outer resin layer covers the core portion and the outer periphery of the multiple core bundles. Furthermore, the elevator equipment also comprises a cable maintenance device, where the end portions of the cables are equipped with a connector (7). Independent current flows through each cord bundle through wires (9) to detect the state of the current, thereby determining whether the cord bundles are contacted with each other.
