A method and a device for direct drying and redrying of tobacco strips are characterized in that the method includes the steps: using a feeder and an electronic belt weigher to convey threshed tobacco strips into a vibratory feed chute at constant flow; using the vibratory feed chute to convey the tobacco strips into a roller type tobacco strip redrying device; allowing the tobacco strips to sequentially pass through a variable-inclination and variable-plate-width shoveling plate drying area at the front of a roller and a spiked drying area at the rear of the roller; and allowing the tobacco strips to fully contact with direct hot air in the roller and the heated wall of the roller during shoveling and throwing in the shoveling plate drying area at the front, drying the tobacco strips by transfer-convection composite heat conducting, allowing the tobacco strips to continue contacting with highly humid hot air and the roller wall during rolling along the roller wall in the spiked drying area at the rear, and slowly dewatering the tobacco strips to be balanced, wherein the discharged tobacco strips is directly dried with the water content dropping to 12%-13%. The method and the device have the advantages that energy consumption is lowered, breakage of the tobacco leaves in drying is reduced, water uniformity of the redried tobacco leaves is improved, flavor ingredients of the cured tobacco are maintained effectively, and the process of redrying the tobacco strips is simplified greatly.
