Disclosed is a parking assistance device that is equipped with: a vehicle position identification control unit that identifies the current position; a parking assistance database in which guide lines for each parking location are registered to be displayed when parking; a camera which photographs the surroundings; a parking assistance screen generation unit that, when parking in a parking location which exists at a position identified by the vehicle position identification control unit, obtains the guide lines corresponding to the parking location from the parking assistance database, superimposes the guide lines on the image obtained by photography by means of the camera, and generates a parking assistance screen; and a display unit that displays the parking assistance screen generated by the parking assistance screen generation unit. Thus, the parking assistance device with improved convenience, that can display an optimal parking assistance image in response to the parking location, is provided.
