The invention discloses a monitoring system for an electric automobile and a control method thereof. The monitoring system comprises a communication module, a collecting module, a monitoring center, an automobile running monitoring system, a charging monitoring system, a real-time electricity price monitoring system, a user interactive data monitoring system and a battery status estimating monitoring system, wherein the monitoring center is used for collecting information, receiving a data of a power grid system, sending the data to the real-time electricity price monitoring system and establishing a real-time load database; the automobile running monitoring system and the charging monitoring system are used for collecting data of a charged automobile, sending the data to the battery status estimating monitoring system, estimating the battery status and maintaining a battery; and the user interactive data monitoring system is used for interacting with an electric automobile user, receiving basic information of the user and a charging plan of the user and putting forward an optimal charging plan according to the real-time electricity price monitoring system. The running and charging processes of the electric automobile are wholly managed by utilizing the monitoring system provided by the invention, economic benefits are brought to the user and the power grid, and meanwhile, the power grid is stable and the user charging service is convenient.
