The invention relates to an illumination device and method of a toilet. The upper part of the toilet is provided with a light permeable area. Outside the light permeable area, a light gathering system is adopted to synchronously irradiate the reflection devices of a roof of the toilet and a roof of a room. The illumination device can be designed by industrialization, generalization, standardization and serialization, can also be applied to a kitchen, a bedroom and a place with high power-utilization safety grade and belongs to the fields of construction and electric and optical application in the construction.
