A process for continuously producing a laminated optical film is provided with which it is possible to produce a laminated optical film inhibited from having spot defects. The process for producing a laminated optical film comprises a rubbing step in which one surface of a long base film is rubbed, while sending the film along the lengthwise direction, to form a rubbed surface, a bending/conveying step in which the film that has undergone the rubbing step is bent and conveyed using a plurality of guides that bend the conveying direction, and a coating step in which a solution containing a lyotropic liquid-crystal compound is applied to the rubbed surface of the film that has undergone the bending/conveying step, thereby forming an optically anisotropic film. The process is characterized in that in the bending/conveying step, a guide having a gas-jetting means is used as the guide disposed on the rubbed-surface side and the conveying direction of the film is bent while preventing the rubbed surface from coming into contact with the guide.
