Disclosed is an X-ray imaging device provided with an X-ray source having multiple X-ray focal spots, an X-ray detector that detects X-rays that have passed through an imaging subject after being emitted from an X-ray focal spot, and a control means that controls the X-ray source and the X-ray detector. From among the X-ray focal spots from which X-rays could pass through the area of interest, i.e. the imaging site in the imaging subject, and hit the X-ray detector, the X-ray imaging device selects a set of X-ray focal spots for which the angle of intersection that emitted X-rays would make in the area of interest matches a prescribed angle. The X-ray imaging device then chooses the X-ray focal point between the selected X-ray focal points as the X-ray focal point to be used in imaging. X-rays are then emitted from the chosen X-ray focal point and detected by the X-ray detector, creating an X-ray image.
