The present invention relates to a method and to a device for forming a container (2), in a mold (6) provided with a wall (7) forming a recess (9), from an intermediate container (3) that includes at least one lateral outgrowth (4) projecting outside the container, said method including a boxing operation that consists of turning back the lateral outgrowth (4) by means of an insert (13) that is movably mounted relative to the mold (6) between a retracted position, in which the insert is stowed in a cavity (15) formed in the wall (7), and a released position, in which the insert (13) projects outwards relative to the wall (7) to form a hollow recess (5) that projects inside the container (2) by turning over, characterized in that it comprises: an operation for pressurizing the intermediate container (3) that involves, prior to the boxing operation, injecting a pressurized fluid into the intermediate container (3); and a local pressurizing operation that involves, prior to the boxing operation, injecting a pressurized fluid into a space defined in said cavity (15) between the lateral outgrowth (4) and the insert (13).
