The invention relates to a method for preparing an ultralow expanding ceramic material. The method comprises the following steps of: 1, preparing the following raw materials in part by weight: 60 to 80 parts of spodumene, 10 to 35 parts of aluminium oxide (Al2O3), 15 to 40 parts of silica (SiO2), 5 to 15 parts of kaolin, additive and 1.5 to 3 parts of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA); 2, performing ball-milling and crushing on all the powdered raw materials; 3, sieving, attracting iron, performing spray-drying to prepare powder, and performing machine moulding; and 4, sintering at high temperature andpreserving heat to prepare the ultralow expanding ceramic material. The ultralow expanding ceramic material is a white flaky material, uses spodumene particulate solid melt as a basic material and isdirectly synthesized according to a Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 ternary system formula theory, wherein the water absorption of the product is less than 0.5 percent; rupture modulus is 50 to 80 MPa; thermal shockresistance is that the product is not cracked during one-step heat exchange at the temperature of between 720 and 20 DEG C according to a test by a strip sample test method (YB4018) in China; and thermal expansion coefficient is 0.9*10<-6>/DEG C at the temperature of between 20 and 850 DEG C. The process is simple; the process required by preparation of fritted glaze is saved; and energy consumption of production is reduced.
