The blood glucose level measuring apparatus includes patient identification means, blood glucose level measuring means, time counting means, display means, control means having a normal measurement mode in which patient identification information and a patient data table are cross-checked with each other and then, if the patient identification information is not found, measurement of the blood glucose level is inhibited and an emergency measurement mode in which carrying out of measurement of the blood glucose level is permitted without acquiring the patient identification information by the identification means.
