The invention relates to an automatic newspaper vending machine capable of controlling the falling of newspapers by utilizing the self weight of the newspapers. The automatic newspaper vending machine comprises a box body, a restraining device, a control center and a coin operated machine or a non-contact IC (Integrated Circuit) card identification device, wherein newspapers are restrained or fixed by the restraining device; and the control center is used for ordering the restraining device to cancel to restrain or fix one newspaper, and the newspaper slips down to a newspaper outlet via the self weight. The automatic newspaper vending machine has no complicated newspaper conveying structure or transmitting structure and avoids box body space increase or cost increase caused by complicated structure as well as fault maintaining cost increase. The automatic newspaper vending machine can be used for displaying a main layout of the newspaper or displaying other promotional information, and a plurality of automatic newspaper vending machines can be combined for combined vending. The automatic newspaper vending machine has the advantages of simplicity and convenience for use, low energy consumption, environmental-protection performance and wide use scope and is particularly suitable for places with small spaces or high space utilization rate.
