The invention discloses a Cr-Tm aluminum alloy material with high strength and heat resistance and a preparation method thereof. The Cr-Tm aluminum alloy material comprising the following components in percentage by weight: 1.0-10.0% of Cu, 0.05-1.5% of Mn, 0.01-0.5% of Cd, 0.01-0.5% of Ti, 0.01-0.2% of B, 0.01-1.0% of Zr, 0.01-1.0% of Cr, 0.05-5% of Tm, and the balance of Al. In the invention, high-quality melts, solid solution and phase diagram theories are used as guidance, a formula of main alloy elements of Cu, Mn and Tm is preferably selected to reduce an alloy quasi solid-phase temperature range and solve the problems of large heat crack tendency during casting, low high-temperature strength of products and the like; a formula of low-cost multiple microalloying elements is preferably selected to create material base conditions for the culture and the grain refining action of a high-temperature phase and a strengthening phase in the solid solution; and smelting and thermal treatment technologies are optimized, therefore, the alloy material with high strength and heat resistance is finally developed.
