The invention discloses a method for preparing m-xylylenediamine by intermittent hydrogenation in stirred tank. The method comprises the following steps of: pre-adding a modified granular solid catalyst to a stirred reaction kettle, and pumping a mixture of meta- dicyanobenzene, a ternary mixed solvent and a secondary amine inhibitor at high pressure for intermittent hydrogenation reaction; pressing reaction liquid and carrying out solid-liquid filter separation by directly utilizing self pressure of the reaction kettle after the reaction is ended, and rectifying the separated reaction liquidto obtain a target product; and returning the catalyst and an additional new catalyst to a hydrogenation kettle with pressure for recycling. The invention can realize automation control of the m-xylylenediamine stirred kettle batch hydrogenation production process, and has the advantages of no regeneration of the catalyst, simple and convenient operation, high utilization of device, stable reaction, low temperature, short time, high reaction yield, and the like.
