The invention relates to a top loading process for an iron-smelting process furnace. The iron-smelting process furnace comprises a furnace top loading system of a direct reduction furnace, a furnace top loading system of a melting furnace and a sponge iron conveying system, wherein the furnace top loading system of the direct reduction furnace is arranged in parallel with the furnace top loading system of the melting furnace; the top of the direct reduction furnace is provided with a raw material conveying device for conveying ore, fuel and auxiliary materials to the tops of the direct reduction furnace (1) and the melting furnace (10); after being distributed by a distributing device, the ore is added into the direct reduction furnace (1) through the furnace top loading system of the direct reduction furnace; and the fuel and the auxiliary materials are added into the smelting furnace (10) through the top loading system of the smelting furnace. The overall height of the loading system is reduced and construction is facilitated. Simultaneously, a process for generating the sponge iron by direct reduction is integrally combined with a process for producing molten iron by melting in the method, so that heat loss of hot-state sponge iron in a conveying process is reduced, production efficiency is improved and energy consumption is lowered.
