A motorcycle tire comprises a carcass extending between bead portions through a tread portion and sidewall portions, and tread reinforcement disposed radially outside the carcass in the tread portion. The tread reinforcement is composed of a full-width reinforcing layer and a pair of axially-spaced shoulder reinforcing layers. The axially-spaced shoulder reinforcing layers are each disposed in one of tread shoulder portions and made of reinforcing cords inclined at an angle of from 15 to 40 degrees with respect to the tire circumferential direction. The full-width reinforcing layer is disposed radially outside the shoulder reinforcing layers and made of at least one reinforcing cord wound helically at an angle of not more than 10 degrees with respect to the tire circumferential direction so that the full-width reinforcing layer extends across a substantially full width of the tread portion.
