The invention provides a specimen processing apparatus and a specimen processing method. According to an example of the invention, the specimen processing apparatus includes, image detection unit for detecting image data on a specimen before an analytical process to analyze the specimen, and chyle-laky blood detection unit for detecting a chylous or laky state of the specimen by the color of the specimen, based on the detected image data.
