The invention discloses a method and a system for providing short-message value-added service for a common subscriber number. The method comprises the following steps of: setting up virtual customer-service short-message value-added service for the common subscriber number; and transmitting a short message to a virtual customer-service service server by a short message center and processing the short-message value-added service by the virtual customer-service service server after the short message center receives a short message transmitted to the common subscriber number. By substituting the common subscriber number for the SP number, the method and the system realize the function of a virtual customer-service platform for a service provider through a value-added service platform, reduce the operating cost of the service provider, provide better service development for the service provider, and further solve the problem that the service provider cannot provide SP service due to the scale limit.
