The invention discloses an uplink covering capacity control method of time division synchronization code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) system, which is used for effectively enhancing the uplink covering capacity of the TD-SCDMA system under a ultra-distance covering scene and realizing the balance of uplink covering capacity and downlink covering capacity. The method comprises the steps of: confirming that the transmission of uplink data meets the uplink covering capacity enhancing starting condition of an uplink physical channel by user equipment according to a transmission adjusting command sent by a base station; starting the uplink covering capacity enhancing the uplink physical channel by the user equipment, increasing at least one uplink time slot used for loading the uplink data; and transmitting the uplink data loaded in the uplink time slot on the uplink physical channel. The invention also provides the user equipment.
