The invention aims to provide a heat insulating material capable of meeting the heat-insulating requirement of the 1,200 DEG C above high-temperature large-size forging piece. The heat-insulating material comprises 40-75 parts of heat-insulating filler, 15-45 parts of high-temperature caking agent, 1.0-5 parts of high-temperature crosslinking agent, 0.3-10 parts of foaming agent and 0.01-1.5 parts of addition agent. The heat-insulating agent does not contain any liquid component and generate any volatilizing gas in the heat-insulting forming process, is sprayed to parts of the forging piece needed to be insulated by an air spraying, high-pressure air-free spraying or static spraying device and can form a high-temperature heat-insulating layer with the heat-conducting coefficient less than 0.1W/m*K on the surface of the forging piece.
